Description

Yokote begins the interview discussing what it was like to grow up in Placer County in California, which is a more rural area. His parents would come from Wakayama prefecture in Japan and settle there, having a small farm. After this, he discusses the difficulties that the Japanese Americans faced after Pearl Harbor, including incarceration in American concentration camps and having to prove their loyalty, despite being American citizens. He also discusses his reactions to the various events and the background of his siblings.
