Description
An account of the resource
Fukunaga discusses combat experiences after Bruyeres, going to the hospital for trench foot, and his experiences in France and Italy after rejoining the 442nd including exchanging enemy fire with German soldiers. He then talks about getting wounded, and his assignment after the war guarding German POWs. Next, Fukuhama discusses his brothers who were in the service in the United States and Japan, returning back to the United States; and receiving awards such as the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Lastly, Fukuhama discusses going back to college and getting a job.

Description
An account of the resource
Fukunaga discusses traveling from Hawaii to the mainland to go to Camp Shelby for basic training. He then talks about some of his duties during basic training, and his interactions with other soldiers. Next, Fukunaga retells stories he heard regarding incarceration camps, and discusses going overseas to Oran and Naples. He then met up with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, and describes some of his combat experiences including interactions with German soldiers, and the battle at Hill 140. Lastly, Fukunaga talks about his experiences in Florence on patrol, and then getting shipped out to Bruyeres and his combat experiences there.

Description
An account of the resource
Arakaki talks a bit more about his childhood in Okinawa. As he grew up in the village of Gushiken, he would learn folk songs, and play with his siblings. He would also take an interest in karate and learn bo. Next, he talks about the home he grew up in with his grandparents and the types of chores and responsibilities they had, including having neighbors with a pig farm. He also gives a small background on working as a butcher, carpenter and custodian, while settling down and starting a family.

Description
An account of the resource
Arakaki continues his discussion on his time interpreting in the Philippines and the other places that he served during the war. He would also have the chance to visit Okinawa and see his family that was living there. He also talks about the time that he went to work at the General Headquarters in Tokyo and the things he saw there. Next, he talks more about working at the sugar mill in Hawaii and the reasons that he was happy to fight for the United States. After this, he talks about some Japanese war songs he learned growing up in Okinawa and a bit more about the village that he grew up in there.

An account of the resource
Arakaki begins the interview with an introduction and talking about how his parents came to Hawaii. At the age of two, he and his family would move back Japan and Taro would live there until the age of 16, when he would make the move back to Hawaii. While there, he would be drafted into the Army, and begin his career in the Military Intelligence Service (MIS). He would first head to Fort Snelling to train in Japanese language and then Fort McClellan to finish his training. He would be sent overseas soon after as he began interpreting for the MIS in the Philippines. He also talks about his brother that was put into a camp during the war and his time visiting New York.
