An account of the resource
Hagiwara discusses his whereabouts during the end of the war, and his route to get back home. He would get on a plane and take a long trip home, stopping along the way in Puerto Rico, then Miami, before taking a train to Chicago where his wife and daughter were living. He talks about seeing his daughter for the first time and settling down, having six children total. He talks more about his life in Chicago, including going back to school and teaching electronics courses. Finally, he talks about the legacy of the 100th/442nd and the accomplishments they achieved.

An account of the resource
Hagiwara talks more about his war experiences, starting with the Bruyeres-Biffontaine area, which included the Lost Battalion campaign. He also talks about the dense forest of the Vosges Mountains and getting into fights when other soldiers used offensive language towards the Japanese Americans. He would also be involved with the Champagne Campaign and have an AWOL experience in Sospel. After this, they would head to the Gothic Line where they would make a final push to victory. He also talks about the food rations they ate and the showers they were able to have during the war.

Description
An account of the resource
Hagiwara discusses his shipment overseas, taking a U-boat through the Strait of Gibraltar and ending in Oran. There, they would train some more and prepare to join the rest of the men in Italy. He also talks a bit about various members of his unit and the duties of the antitank platoon, including litter-bearing and carrying supplies. After this, he talks about joining up with the 100th Infantry Battalion and talking with soldiers about the accuracy of German soldiers. He would later join up with the 36th Division and the 92nd Division as they made their way through France. Following the Lost Battalion campaign and the Champagne Campaign, they would get on a boat and head back to Italy, which would spell the end of the war.

An account of the resource
Hagiwara talks more about seeing his parents and gives background on how he met his future wife. While at Fort Sheridan, he would often visit his wife but would get word that he would get transferred. After moving around to a couple of places, he ended up visiting Heart Mountain concentration camp before returning to Fort Sheridan. He also talks about his knowledge of the 442nd prior to his placement there, including knowledge of his brother volunteering for it. Next, he talks about being an instructor at basic training while at Camp Shelby. He also talks about his experiences in the war, including going to the hospital with a fever of 106 degrees and the relationships between Hawaiian and mainland soldiers.

Hagiwara continues talking about his experience in the National Guard and the times leading up to Pearl Harbor, as they worried more about Russia invading than Japan. Next, he talks about his whereabouts during the attacks on Pearl Harbor, hearing about it through the National Guard switchboards and hearing of the casualties, one of which was the brother of a close friend. He would soon after be notified that he was going to be transferred to another division in the military, so he went on to Fort Lewis in Washington. He talks about his correspondence with his family during the war, including seeing his father.
