Tsuneishi speaks about the Christian church being an influence in his life and how the Evergreen Methodist church helped support him during his volunteering in Haiti. He also discusses a multitude of issues including anthrax in Haiti, terrorism, and the war in Iraq. Next, he shares a message to future generations to embrace other cultures, as it has helped Tsuneishi shape his life. Description
An account of the resource
After finishing his time in the Philippines, Tsuneishi arrived back in California until he was discharged at Camp Beale near Sacramento. Seeing that he already had over two years of college units, he decided to get his degree, attending UCLA with a bacteriology degree. Following graduation, he took a job at Caltech and then worked at a few other medical laboratories until his retirement. During the end of his career, he met another doctor who was doing missionary work in Haiti and Tsuneishi was persuaded to volunteer for some medical work there as well.

When joining the US Army, Tsuneishi started with the Military Intelligence Service (MIS), taking Japanese language classes and becoming an interpreter. Once the training was complete, he was shipped out to the Philippines on a long journey across the Pacific. Once there, he began his work by translating, interpreting and interrogating war criminals. Tsuneishi speaks about a couple of investigations that he was involved with and the intricacies involved.

He briefly is released from camp to attend the University of Wyoming before being drafted into the Army and heading to Camp Savage. Morimoto describes memories from World War Two, including recalling his brother-in-law's death in Bruyeres, and the harsh weather and combat conditions in Bruyeres. He then talks about not being able to attend his mother's funeral after she passed away at Heart Mountain Incarceration Camp; and meeting his wife and having his first daughter. After being discharged, Morimoto was employed as an automobile mechanic until the passing of the G.I. Bill, which allowed him to attend Cal-Aero Technical Institute where he received a license to work on aircrafts and was subsequently employed to work at a space program. Morimoto then talks about his hobbies working on and racing hotrod cars, and owning championship hunting dogs. Lastly, Morimoto discusses his involvement with Japanese American and veterans organizations, and the differences between Sansei and Yonsei vs. Nisei and Issei experiences when it comes to racism.

Morimoto describes the time that he tripped on a booby trap and was injured, and his comrades' experiences gambling in Monte Carlo. He also talks about going to the hospital due to his trench foot condition which caused him to get reclassified as 'non-combat'. Later, Morimoto was reassigned to an ordinance battalion before getting discharged and being sent to Camp Lucky Strike for discharged soldiers near Paris. Morimoto then talks about his journey back to the United States and being sent to Fort Lewis in Washington, before leaving the service to spend time with his wife and child in Oregon. Lastly, he discusses his friendships within his unit during World War Two, talks about his familial connection to the bombing in Hiroshima, and earning a Bronze Star as part of his combat infantry.

Tsuneishi discusses his sister Florence in Japan and his other sister Frances works for the Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS). Tsuneishi recalls the ranking of the Military Intelligence Service and his promotion. The emotional impact of the war to Tsuneishi are the casualties and the interment camps. Tsuneishi travels to Munich to visit the concentration camp there to compare how much it is similar to Heart Mountain. Due to the point system, Tsuneishi accumulates enough point to be discharge and went to Columbia University, He receives two masters and a PH.D at Yale. He eventually works at Yale as a curator. He gets married and have children.

Tsuneishi discusses discrimination and civil rights. After high school he goes to University of California Los Angeles and major in Political Science and minor in English. Then he transfers University of Berkley for Asian Studies in 1941 when the war happens. He recalls the events of December 7, 1941. Tsuneishi's family goes to Heart Mountain Concentration Camp and he goes to an assemble center in Northern California. Tseneishi volunteers to go work on farms. and the War Authority Relocation allows him to continue his education. He is accepted into Syracuse University. After college, Tsuneishi volunteers for the army and and is inducted into the Military Intelligence Service (MIS). His becomes a translator.

Tsuneishi discusses his name, birth date, and birthplace. Tsuneishi grows up in Duarte, California and there is only another Japanese family in the area. He is more integrated with Caucasians. During the Great Depression, Tsuneishi's Father is a farmer and organizes a poetry society while his Mother help keeps the family together economically with ten children. Tsuneishi is full of activities ranging from Boy Scouts, Japanese Language School, and Community Organization annual events. In High School, he is involve with the newspaper. During his education year he recalls racism.
