An account of the resource
Yamanaka talks about getting wounded during combat in the Vosges Forest, discusses visiting Bruyeres fifty years after the war ended, talks about his war experiences while overseas, and recalls a story regarding a friend and an Italian civilian. He then talks about receiving a combat medics badge, Purple Heart, and Bronze Star; and provides his thoughts regarding volunteering for Military Intelligence Service (MIS), but then deciding against it. Lastly, Yamanaka talks about some post-war experiences including going to school to learn how to fix watches, the treatment he received in regards to discrimination; and provides a message to future generations.

Yamanaka talks about his experiences at Camp Roberts during basic training, discusses the Attack on Pearl Harbor, talks about being sent to Fort Lewis to become part of a medics unit; and then discusses getting transferred to reserves and sent home. He then talks about his family's forced removal to Colorado and his experiences with discrimination, and his job working on a golf course. Lastly, Yamanaka talks about reporting to Camp Shelby when the 442nd was formed and his basic training experiences there; and also discusses the relationship between Hawaiian and Mainland soldiers.
