He would head to the hospital and stay there for a short time before being sent back to the front lines. They would then begin the Champagne campaign, where Tsuda would dig foxholes for a couple of days instead of enjoying his rest and relaxation time. After this, they would continue on, taking heavy casualties while coming up one of the hills and getting artillery barrages. One battle was done in complete darkness and it wasn't until the morning that they were able to see the shadows of the German soldiers shooting at them. The unit would move up from Anzio to Civitavecchia, and then to Belvedere. Throughout this route, they would be experience combat and experience some casualties, even getting hit with an artillery barrage while crossing a river.
