An account of the resource
Isonaga discusses the Varsity Victory Volunteers, joining the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, traveling to the mainland, and basic training at Camp Shelby. He then talks about the relationship between Hawaiian and mainland soldiers, discusses his knowledge of Japanese American incarceration, talks about his experience when visiting Jerome incarceration camp, and explains the differences between anti-tank company and anti-tank platoon. Next, Isonaga discusses his first experiences overseas in Italy including his first day in battle, soldiers who were killed in action, and his litter bearer duties. Lastly, Isonaga talks about volunteering for Military Intelligence Service but getting discharged instead, and returning to Hawaii where he worked and attended the University of Hawaii.
