Turner talks about the Korean War and the intervention and combat with the Chinese in Ursan, where they sustained heavy casualties along the 38th Parallel. After this, he talks about his war experiences in Vietnam, going in helicopters and assignments in Saigon. Next, he talks about the awards and recognition that he received throughout the wars he was involved with, including a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He also talks about the bonds he made during the wars and his father's whereabouts until his death. On the day his father passed away, he would arrive via prop plane and Hawaii would officially become a state.

Turner talks about his time after high school, attending West Point with the referral of a military delegate. After this, he talks about speaking with his father when he came back from the war and the advice that he gave him, that he would have a bond with the men he fought with like he had never had before. After this, he talks about various military terms, such as West Point and delegate. He then goes back and talks about his air training with the Air Corps. Next, he starts to talk about his involvement with the Korean War, being part of the 99th Field Artillery Battalion, He would then be assigned to be a forward observer, convoying at the 38th Parallel.

Turner talks more about the aftermath of Pearl Harbor, and the formation of a provisional Battalion, that would end up being the 100th Infantry Battalion. He talks about the various local leaders, competing to be the commander of the 100th and his father ending up being the chosen leader. He talks about some of his father's leadership techniques and his relationship with Japanese Americans in Hawaii. He would ship out with his father to the mainland, listening to Hawaiian music and leaving Hawaii for the first time. Next, he talks about the harsh reality of creating a unit with soldiers from the same area, as when casualties heavy, it's difficult for the entire area. While his father was at Camp McCoy, Turner would be attending school at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. He talks about visiting him there and his high school life.

Turner talks more about growing up in Hawaii, including being a part of the boy scouts. After this he jumps forward and speaks about his marriage background. Next, he talks about his father, as he was in the National Guard and would be summoned back into military service during World War Two, with a rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Turner then speaks about his whereabouts during the attacks on Pearl Harbor, wondering if they were doing maneuvers or not, as he saw planes flying overhead. He would end up not seeing his father for a couple of weeks and staying at Schofield Barracks until things cleared up. After that, he would head back home but see the carnage that had been done at Pearl Harbor and constantly hear calls for doctors over the radio.

Turner begins the interview talking about his father, who was born in Hilo and would work at the Waialua sugar plantation. He talks about the rest of his family and their background, before talking about what it was like to grow up in Hawaii. Growing up in Honolulu, he would play sports and attend Punahou School, which is a private school. There, he would prepare for college and learn honesty from teachers. After this, he talks about his religious background and friends that he was close with.
