Hashimoto recalls a story about Sadao "Spud" Munemori, then briefly discusses the Asiatic Campaign, which he was not a part of. He then talks about getting discharged, traveling back to the United States, and moving to Chicago. In Chicago, Hashimoto got married, had children, attended trade school, and got a job in the electronics industry. He also talks about his experiences with discrimination; and earning a Bronze Star as part of a unit, as well as earning ribbons for his participation in Bruyeres, the Lost Battalion rescue, and the Gothic Line. He also talks about his feelings regarding his war experiences, provides advice for future generations of Japanese Americans, and discusses what life was like after the War, including seeing his family again. Lastly, his wife describes photographs of Hashimoto and his family, his service photos, and photographs of their wedding and anniversary.

Hashimoto describes the rescue of the Lost Battalion, recalling the many casualties and what it was like fighting against German soldiers. He also discusses the replacement soldiers he encountered after returning to Italy, recalls the story of how Sadao Munemori received his Medal of Honor posthumously, describes an injury he received during battle, and provides an explanation of the Gothic Line. After breaking through the Gothic Line, Hashimoto received a pass and traveled to Switzerland and Rome, where he visited the Vatican and met the Pope.

Hashimoto discusses his first combat experience in Anzio; and describes experiences in combat including the living conditions, being under attack, witnessing the death of soldiers and fellow comrades, going on patrols, liberating Italian cities, and friendships with Hawaiian soldiers. He also talks about the rivalry between the 100th and 442nd, meeting up with the 442nd in Civitavecchia; and describes how the 100th got attached to the 44nd. Lastly, Hashimoto describes crossing the Arno River and going to Southern France; and recalls his experiences visiting Bruyeres with his wife after World War Two.

Hashimoto discusses growing up in Santa Cruz, California and recalls helping his father with farming duties; and playing sports, including being a part of a Nisei baseball league. He then talks about his whereabouts during the attack on Pearl Harbor, and his experiences immediately following, which included going to Modesto where he was "quarantined" and under curfew; and then forcibly removed to Merced Detention Facility. Hashimoto then volunteered to go to Amache Incarceration Camp to assist with cleaning before the other incarcerates arrived; and discusses his employment at Merced and Amache. Lastly, Hashimoto talks about volunteering for the 442nd, traveling to Mississippi and experiencing segregation, being reassigned to the 100th, and traveling overseas to Italy.
