Inami talks about his reasons for volunteering for Military Intelligence Service (MIS), discusses joining ROTC in college, and talks about the reasons why he wanted to be in the military. He then talks about induction and basic trianing before going to Military Intelligence Service Language School (MISLS) at Fort Snelling; as well as his experiences at Fort Snelling such as his interactions with local civilians, and MISLS classes both as a student and as an instructor. Next, Inami discusses Kibei and their roles in MIS; his experiences during the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki; and his knowledge of atomic bombs and radar from courses he took in college.

Inami talks about his freshman orientation at UC Berkeley and his experiences with discrimination, and discusses how his military service as well as the existence of the 442nd helped him with his career. He then talks about his family's forced removal including discussing items that were confiscated by the sheriff's office as well as having to discard items such as photographs. Next, Inami discusses the living conditions at both Fresno temporary detention facility and Jerome Concentration Camp; and discusses other experiences at Jerome such as friendships, meeting his future wife, and his job helping the assistant electrical engineer of the camp. Lastly, Inami talks about leaving Jerome to go to Illinois Tech, and volunteering for Military Intelligence Service (MIS).
