First, he speaks about the discrimination he saw in the south when training in Mississippi and the troubles between the Hawaiian and Mainland soldiers. Next, he speaks about the wound he received while in combat and the experience that he had during his first combat mission in Italy. After recovering from his wound, he headed back out to join the 522nd, and in Germany, he would see the remains of the Auschwitz slave labor camps. It was not long after this that the end of the war would occur and he would be shipped back to the United States. Finally, he speaks about his time as a teacher and a limo driver, which included a special time with the very famous Beatles.

He speaks about the hardships of selling the store they owned and the low offers for their personal belongings. After this, Ouchi would go to Minidoka concentration camp and answer the loyalty questionnaire yes, yes meaning he would volunteer for the Army. As he believed it was his duty as an American to fight, others around him had different perspectives, including his father who took a while to come around on the idea. Next, he talks about discrimination, furloughs and how he met his wife.
