Tochihara discusses a couple of soldiers that he knew and talks about the various medals he received for his time overseas, including a Purple Heart. Next, he talks a little bit more about his war experiences, including going AWOL, but not getting caught, heading to the front lines and being sent back. He would be discharged from the Army and head to New York to go to school on the GI Bill and begin his career as an architect. He would move through various cities, eventually landing in Los Angeles, facing a lot of job based-discrimination but finding work with some Jewish architectural firms. He would then go back to school and pass his state exams to be a licensed architect. He next speaks about his marriage background, including grandchildren and children, before giving a message for future generations to get a good education. Finally, they look over his artifacts, including medals and pictures.

Following the American concentration camps in Idaho, Tochihara would volunteer for the Army, wanting to fight for the country he was born and raised in. After a 30 day furlough, he would begin his basic training at Camp Shelby as a replacement for the 100th Infantry Battalion. He would be trained with the heavy guns team. He talks about the fighting between the mainland and Hawaiian soldiers and how they took the Hawaiian soldiers to Rohwer concentration camp, where they would learn about the incarceration of Japanese Americans. Next, he would be shipped out in a convoy for 28 days, arriving first in North Africa before docking near Naples in Italy. He would join up with the 442nd Regiment, M company and head to Anzio, followed by Hill 140, where he would be wounded in action.

An account of the resource
In 1948, Toshi Beverly Iba returns to the United States. She reunites with her older brother and helps him with his nursery business. Toshi also attends a Los Angeles Costume Design School and later graduates.
In November 1948, Toshi marries Shigeru. She helps Shigeru at his nursery called Rainbow Nursery and raises their three sons. Toshi would like her children to remember their father's contributions to the war. She does not want future generations to experience what the Japanese Americans experienced during World War Two. The Nisei's legacy helps open more opportunities for future generations and gives them a voice.
Shigeru describes photographs of his family and wartime.
