The bulk of the photographs are of George Shimizu as Mary Shimizu curated photographs of herself and her then boyfriend, later husband. Mary Yamamoto Shimizu is also shown traveling to Heart Mountain Incarceration Camp.
Album is maroon and bound. George Shimizu lent the album for digitization after conducting an oral history in 2016 with Go For Broke National Education Center.

Gilbert T. Tanji served in the Military Intelligence Service of the United States Army. The album depicts aircraft at the Anacostia Airfield in Washington, DC and soldiers with whom Tanji worked and the Tanji family photographs including his children, wife and extended family. It also includes photographs of family in the American Concentration Camps and portraits of Japanese American soliders. Norman Kikuta begins by describing his childhood growing up on the pineapple plantations of Hawaii and his educational experiences from primary school through university. He recalls the Pearl Harbor attack and subsequently volunteering for the Hawaii Territorial Guard and eventually the Military Intelligence Service. He also recounts his experiences training at Camp Savage and his paratrooper jump training. Finally, Kikuta describes his war experiences with the 11th Airborne Division in the Philippine campaign, specifically in Luzon, Leyte, and Manila.

Upon returning to the Los Angeles area, Matsumoto settled in Long Beach, graduating from the local high school and worked in various produce markets and grocery stores in the area. Matsumoto describes his profession and life in the time leading up to the beginning of World War II.
