Description
An account of the resource
Hada discusses getting drafted into the Army and basic training at Schofield barracks. Hada was at Schofield Barracks during the attack on Pearl Harbor and describes seeing airplanes flying overhead. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hada had assignments securing the area before going back to basic training, and was then sent to Maui as part of an Anti-Tank Company with the National Guard. He then talks about the formation of the 100th Infantry Battalion, and what it was like traveling overseas to the mainland, and then traveling by train to Camp McCoy in Wisconsin. While at Camp McCoy, Hada got passes to go into town, and also talks about training, the food in the mess hall, and the fighting that occurred between the 100th and 2nd Infantry Division soldiers.
