An account of the resource
Oura begins the interview talking about how his family came from Miyagi prefecture to Honolulu, Hawaii. His father came to work at the sugar plantation, where James and his siblings would grow up with very little money and food but surviving nonetheless. He would attend both english and Japanese language schools and end up graduating from Kahuka High School. Soon after, the attacks on Pearl Harbor occurred and he remembers seeing a fallen plane and hearing about the attacks on the radio. As he was a boy scout, they were told he would be a messenger if needed.

Description
An account of the resource
Kurahara discusses getting discharged from the hospital and being sent to a reconversion unit for training. Shortly after, Kurahara finds out the war is over and is assign to guard the Prisoners of War. Post-war, Kurahara graduates from Columbia University and works as a social worker working with at risk kids for 18 years. He meets his wife and gets married in Hawaii. They have two sons and grandchildren. In his retirement years he is involve with 100th Infantry Battalion organizations. He shares advice for future generations and describes photographs of his family.

Description
An account of the resource
Tanaka discusses his post-war employment. His work is mainly in corporate and property law. In 1982 , he is appointed to Intermediate Member of Court of Appeals. Tanaka recalls the highlight of his career is being appointed a judge,
Tanaka recalls meeting his wife Helene in New Haven and getting married. Tanaka and Helene have two children and grandchildren. During he retirement, Tanaka does volunteer work at the court, yard work, and picking up grandson.
Hawaii is a big part of Tanaka's life since this is his childhood home. Tanaka has watch Hawaii change from prewar to post-war. In 1959, Hawaii becomes a state and there is a big celebration. Tanaka says this opportunity for growth will make the economy better for the Nisei and open the land for new development.
Looking back at war time, Tanaka's memorable experience is working with the Australian team. The worst part is being hospitalization and missing out on the occupation of Japan. He shares advice for the future generation and how his upbringing contributes to his experiences in life. Tanaka also shares photographs from the war; law school and family.

Sakaji discusses his employment assisting his father and tells a story where he attempted to fix a tractor. He then talks about his post-war employment working for a mechanic; the attack on Pearl Harbor and aftermath; and discusses his forced removal first to Tulare temporary detention facility, then to Gila River Concentration Camp. Next, Sakaji discusses the living conditions at Tulare; talks about his interactions with Japanese POWs bringing them back to Japan as the war was ending; discusses Japanese Kamikaze pilots; and talks about Japan's automobile industry. Lastly, Sakaji talks about his experiences at Gila River including farming and living conditions; provides some thoughts regarding Japanese American incarceration; and discusses the bravery of Nisei soldiers.
