After Japan, Paul has one more year of service. He goes to Fort Lewis, WA. He is assigned to the 2nd Infantry Division, 23rd Regiment, First Sergeant of the Cannon Company. Paul reflects on working with General MacArthur and says he is a good leader.

When Paul is discharged, he faces challenges finding a job and buying a home due to discrimination. Paul is able to persuade a housing contractor to sell homes to Japanese Americans. Paul goes into the real estate business with the motivation to help other Japanese Americans.

Paul establishes his real estate business in Gardena and is active with the city. The next phase of Paul's life is in politics. Paul becomes the Executive Director of Commissioner of Wartime and Relocation Internment of Civilians.

Besides politics, Paul focuses on recording the stories of camp life, 442nd, and the Military Intelligence Service (MIS). Paul's story goes to MGM studios, and a movie is produced. The film is called Go For Broke, and it is a success.

Later Nob prepares for the invasion of Luzon, Philippines. The first target mission is to hit the American GI Prison Camp. In Luzon, there are Filipino guerrillas who have a different tactic with the POWs. Nob says it is difficult to interrogate POWs if they are wounded. It is better to treat the POWs with humanity for them to corporate. In Manila, Nob is hospitalized and meets Mrs. MacArthur.

After the Philippines, Nob goes to Korea. He serves with the Civil Government working on war crime trials. After his Korea Tour, Nob is discharged, January 3, 1946, at Camp McCoy. Post-war, Nob gets married to Dorthy, and they have four children and several grandchildren.

While Yonemura is in the Military Intelligence Service, Toshiko (his wife) gets a job in Houston, Texas. Yonemura and Toshiko gets married in 1943 during his weekend pass to Joplin, Missouri.

June of 1943, Yonemura waits for his overseas assignment. Yonemura discusses how General MacArthur escape the Philippines and open Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) in Australia. Yonemura is assign to Indoorpilly, Australia.

ATIS is divided into two groups: translation and interrogation. The interrogation group interrogates Prisoners of War (POW). The translation group is divided into two groups: general translation and technical translation of documents. Yonemura assign to technical translation of document and assign to Navy Officer Lieutenant Ed Rosten (a classmate from law school). Later, Yonemura becomes editor of translation section of ATIS. ]]>

In Hawaii there is mainly Americans of Japanese ancestry; therefore, did not associate with mix races much. On the mainland, Yamada has no problems interacting with others of mix race. After passing an exam, Yamada goes to Camp Savage. He recalls the weather being cold and lives in barracks. At Camp Savage he studies language, geography, and history for eight hours a day. In the evening, lights are out at 8pm. The only place that has lights is in the latrine and he studies in there. Yamada is at Camp Savage for 1/2 year and then is transfer to Camp Snelling. He is at For Snelling for a few months before shipping out.

Yamada goes overseas on a troopship for 29 days to Australia. On the ship, the soldiers have two meals a day. He is assign to Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) and got along with mainland soldiers. In New Guinea, his assignment is to translate and interrogate Prisoners of War (POWs).

A memorable story during basic training is hearing about the Mainland soldiers' family being interned and their decision to serve for America.
