Tsuji begins by talking about the New Years traditional film he would watch portraying the 47 Ronin. Next, he begins an in depth recollection of Pearl Harbor, from listening in on the radio to seeing the fire ball and smoke from a distance. He discusses the sight of Japanese planes flying low to the ground and then out of sight. An account of the resource
Tsuda talks about the Po Valley campaign and where he was when he hard that the war was over. During this time, he would get hepatitis and be forced to spend a month in the hospital before being able to leave and come back to the United States. Once he returned, he would go to business school and spend time with his family, before working in federal services at Hickam Field for thirty years. After this he discusses his marriage and children backgrounds. He finishes with a message for his grandchildren to study hard and some final notes.

Tsuda begins the interview with a brief introduction of himself and his parents. After this, he talks about what it was like to grow up in Honolulu, living in Haleiwa on a pineapple cannery. He would enjoy attending Japanese language school and would have a heavy influence of Japanese culture throughout his childhood. He would also take part in fishing and judo but would be limited in his recreational time as he had to drop out of high school and begin working as a contractor when his brother was drafted into the Army. Next, he talks about the attacks on Pearl Harbor and being put on a heavy restriction by his work.

Taba continues talking about his time in combat throughout Europe with the 100th Infantry Regiment. He talks about various battles that he was involved with, including the Gothic Line and the Lost Battalion. Shortly after this, the war came to an end and Taba was sent back to the mainland. He also discusses the importance of the 100th Infantry Battalion and how they differed from other regiments. He would end up heading back to Hawaii to get his discharge at Hickam field. He would focus on a few different jobs in the next years, including working for the Army National Guard. He would also take up painting during this time and would continue to do so his whole life. Next, he speaks about his family and how he met his wife. Finally, he gives a message for his grandchildren, saying to be humble and care for others.

Kawakami begins the interview speaking about how he got the nickname "Joe" and his family background as his father was from Kumamoto and his mother was born in Hilo. He would attend school and grow up playing a lot of sports until the Pearl Harbor attacks occurred and he would end up volunteering for the Army. He would head over to the Schofield Barracks in Honolulu and then ship over to Camp Shelby in Mississippi to begin his basic training. After learning various weapons, he was shipped out to North Africa before being sent into combat in Europe. He would spend time throughout Italy, but especially remembers the Monte Cassino and Po Valley battles, where he would end up getting wounded.

After the war, Susumu Sarae goes back to Hawaii. He is a taxis driver for several years before going back to Okinawa, Japan. In Okinawa, Susumu works for the civil service for a year on rebuilding houses. Part of his duties is looking for land and workers. After a year, Susumu goes to Honolulu, Hawaii.
Susumu's message to future generations is to join the Army. He says the Army is beneficial because you meet diverse people and learn about other cultures. At the end of the interview, he shares photographs from World War Two and post-war in Okinawa and the family.

In November 1944, Susumu Sarae receives his draft notice. He goes to the replacement depot, where is his indoctrinated into service. From the replacement depot, he goes to Schofield Air Force Base, Hickam Air Force Base, and Fort Kamehameha before going to Guadalcanal to the Pacific Theater.
He recalls his first duties in Okinawa, Japan, is to search the beach for dead bodies. He describes the reactions of the local civilians and the treatment he receives from them as a Japanese American soldier. In the beginning, there is a disconnect in the language because Susumu speaks Hawaiian Japanese. Gradually, he learns to speak the Okinawan language.
Susumu is part of three uniforms. The Army, the Naval Intelligence, and the First Marine Division. Overseas, Susumu receives a promotion from private to lieutenant. As an interpreter, Susumu did not work on the translations. He credits the Military Intelligence Service (MIS) for the translations.

Oura begins the interview talking about how his family came from Miyagi prefecture to Honolulu, Hawaii. His father came to work at the sugar plantation, where James and his siblings would grow up with very little money and food but surviving nonetheless. He would attend both english and Japanese language schools and end up graduating from Kahuka High School. Soon after, the attacks on Pearl Harbor occurred and he remembers seeing a fallen plane and hearing about the attacks on the radio. As he was a boy scout, they were told he would be a messenger if needed.

Description
An account of the resource
Kubota discusses his Father immigration from Hiroshima, Japan. His Father is able to come to the United States in 1903 through sponsorship of his own Father. He works on the plantation before returning to Japan to marry his Mother. His parents return to the United States after the birth of their first son. Kubota's Mother is born in Hawaii but is sent to Japan when she is an infant.
Kubota''s Father is a hard worker who is quiet and kind. He instills to his children to work hard and be good to others. His Mother is philosopher and educates the Kubota and his siblings how to be good children. Kubota has two brothers and two sisters. Kubota's oldest brother is born in Japan and lives there whereas his other siblings are born in Hawaii.
Kubota lives on the plantation as a child. Although his family is poor, he grows up as a happy child. His parents work very hard to provide for the family. His Father works as a carpenter and his Mother is a house maid for the plantation supervisors. Kubota is Buddhist and attends camp church. He attends Sunday school and church services are on Wednesday nights.
In addition to attending primary school, his attends Japanese language school from 1-12 grade. He learns about morals ethic and ways of living. Kubota says these value for good for him. He also learns Judo. Besides school, Kubota is active in sports such as the plantation league basketball and baseball team.
He recalls learning about the attack on Pearl Harbor on the radio. After a week from the bombing, Kubota goes to clean up Hickham Air Force Base and sees first hand the disaster. When the announcement of Nisei Regiment Formation is looking for volunteers, Kubota goes to volunteer.

An account of the resource
Surh begins the interview by discussing her visit to Jerome to see her best friend Nish and her family. She expresses confusion and disappointment at the fact that the U.S. government would incarcerate its own citizens. Surh also talks about the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and the reactions she saw from soldiers she was treating from Hickam Air Field in Hawaii. After talking about her experiences serving as an Army Nurse overseas during the war, Surh speaks about her experiences post-war, including working as a civilian nurse. Lastly ,she ends by beginning to discuss her different hobbies and activities outside of work.
