Title
Rudy Tokiwa oral history interview, part 2 of 8, June 3, 2001
Description
Rudy Tokiwa describes his trip to Manchuria, where he and his parents visited his pregnant sister. His brother-in-law took him sight seeing in Manchuria and Korea. During his time in Manchuria, he noticed that the Manchurians respected the Japanese people, even though the Japanese were their "conquerors." He found this unusual, especially because Japanese Americans were continuously facing discrimination by their fellow Americans. He goes on to talk about his experience learning to be a cook at Poston Concentration Camp.
