Description
Yokote talks about his musical background, getting a trombone at a young age and learning the importance and discipline of instruments. He then begins to talk about his time at basic training at Camp Blanding and the unit that he was a part of. While in France, he would end up getting a tryout for the 206th Army Ground Force Band and joining them playing the trombone. He then goes back and talks about his whereabouts when first hearing of the attacks on Pearl Harbor, taking night classes for aircraft wiring. He talks about his reactions to the attacks and then being drafted into the Army.
