                <text>Nishioka discusses his situation before shipping out, getting upgraded from first scout to a non-commissioned officer but instead deciding to volunteer to be a replacement for the 100th Infantry Battalion. After this, he would get onto a liberty ship and ship out, landing first in Sicily before heading to mainland Italy. Upon arrival, he would again be assigned as a first scout. Next, he talks about the differences between the American and German weapons and how the German weapons were far superior, including the tanks which were much bigger. After this, he discusses his first combat experiences after finishing wit Anzio. They would first fight in Civitavecchia and then help the 442nd that was pinned down in Belvedere. </text>
