Description
An account of the resource
Kuida discusses his path following the family's move to Utah. As his sister was sick, his family ended up moving closer to Salt Lake City, where Kuida would start attending classes at the University of Utah. After about a year at the university, he was drafted into the army, figuring that he would be a part of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team as a replacement. He and his brother would head to Camp Kilmer in Florida to begin their training and await their shipment to Europe. His brother would end up going first, and Kuida and a large convoy would follow months later. They would arrive in Le Havre, France and head to Marseille, where they had to be quarantined for measles. Following this, they would be sent to the front lines, where he would see his brother after 4 months of separation. They would, however, have to separate minutes later as Kuida was assigned to join cannon company in Carrara Italy, where he would see his first combat action.

Description
An account of the resource
Uesato continues his discussion of his time in occupied Japan. During this time, he was an interpreter for political analysts who were trying to get as much information as they could regarding Japan's population in politics. In this way, Uesato was able to make a lot of direct impact on the Japanese government, including involvement with the first general election that Japanese women got to vote in. Other than politics, he was also able to uncover some information on his brother that had been stuck in Japan after Pearl Harbor. Unfortunately, he found that he had passed away after contracting malaria. Uesato continued his interpreting in occupied Japan until he decided that a college education would be more important than a steady job. He would, however, end up coming back to Japan quite often as a purser, spending time in both Japan and San Francisco, where he would meet his future wife.

Description
An account of the resource
After Pearl Harbor, Tadayoshi Sugiyama remembers being cautious and hearing rumors about General Dwight Eisenhower and evacuation orders. In April 1942, the Sugiyama family evacuate to the Turlock Assembly Center in Tracy, California.
Each person is only allowed to bring what they can carry. The designation of the camp is not announced to the evacuees. Therefore, you do not know if you are going somewhere hot or cold. Tadayoshi recalls going into their barracks for the first time.
The Sugiyama family is at Turlock from April to September and then travel by train to camp with the windows blackout. On the train, there are military personals (MP). They arrive at Casa Grande, but the camp is not fully built yet. Tadayoshi recalls helping with the construction.
Tadayoshi's Issei parents did not say much about the evacuation even though they have a hard time adjusting to camp. His father works at the mess hall as a cook, his older brother works at the hospital as a doctor, and Tadayoshi works as an x-ray technician. The Japanese Americans have to adjust to life at camp. There are dances, playing sports and Japanese shows. Tadayoshi says many of the Issei are very talented performing in the Japanese shows. He recalls in camp they are given a loyalty questionnaire and he discusses medical health care in camp.
Tadayoshi is about to enroll at the University of Minnesota and then receives a letter from the Army to join. Tadayoshi decides to go Camp Savage and see if he can join the Military Intelligence Service (MIS). He takes an exam and passes.
Tadayoshi discusses Army life and basic training. In July 1945, Tadayoshi goes overseas to the Philippines and Japan. Before going overseas, Tadayoshi gets married.

Mori continues his discussion on cave experiences while serving overseas in Okinawa. Following Okinawa, he is moved back to the Philippines until the end of the war. After thinking they would be sent back home after the atomic bombs, they are instead routed to Hokkaido in Japan, where he would spend time in Sapporo. Next, he talks about interpreters who had bodyguards and communication back to his family in the states. Mori gets discharged out of Zama and sent back to the United States, where he and his family would try to find a place to settle, moving to California, then Hawaii, and then eventually back to Santa Barbara. He then talks about his family, including his two brothers that also served in the Army.

In return the french boy invites him to his house where Kubota eats bake chicken and potatoes. The next morning before Kubota gets ready to leave, the French boy gives him an egg and wishes him luck. Description
An account of the resource
After spending time at the Military Intelligence Service Language School at Camp Savage, Tanakatsubo was sent overseas to begin interrogating in the Aleutian Islands where the Japanese were occupying some islands. It was there at the Battle of Attu that he first began his work searching bodies for documents that could help the US Army. After that, he was moved to Kiska where his team quickly realized that the Japanese had evacuated the island. Next, he was sent back to the United States for a short time until he was sent back overseas to Brisbane in Australia, where he found out that his father had passed away in the camps. Having this grief, he decided to join the front lines and was sent to New Guinea, then the Philippines and finally, Japan for interrogation work after the war had ended. It was there that he saw the hardships of the Japanese and decided to help a family he met, feeding them and making sure the children stayed out of trouble. Having more than 140 points, Tanakatsubo decided to head back to the United States, where he would discharge from the Army and head to dental school in Cleveland. While in the midwest, he moved to Chicago and got married and started a family that now includes three children and nine grandchildren.
