An account of the resource
Kazuo Komoto begins the interview with detailing his father's reasons for leaving Japan and then returning to Japan to find a bride before starting a family in the United States. Next, he discusses his mother's wishes for her children to get a Japanese education after seeing a lack of opportunities for Nisei in America. Lastly, he talks about his loneliness living with his grandparents in Japan, and how his grammar school music teacher helped him get through his early years in Japan.
