Fukuhara continues his recollection of the time after the Pearl Harbor attacks, and his father being taken in by the FBI. Other than that, things would go on as normal until the Executive Order 9066 was signed. With just a couple days notice, he and his family were forced to take one suitcase each and head to the Puyallup Fairgrounds where they would begin their temporary detention center time. Fukuhara talks about the barbed wire and sad living conditions, including very little privacy. Shortly after, they were moved to the Minidoka Concentration Camp, where they would live in barracks and work for $16 a month. He then talks about the loyalty questions that were given and how he had no loyalty to Japan, so the questions were easy to answer. Later, while attending college in Iowa, he would be drafted into the Army and begin his induction at Fort Douglas.

Fujimoto talks about his family background and his childhood, growing up in southern California. Next, he speaks about his self identity and what it was like to grow up being a Japanese American, amongst a neighborhood of caucasians. Next, the attacks on Pearl Harbor occurred, followed by the Executive Order 9066 and it's effects. Fujimoto remembers that he thought it was unjust to have this happen, especially the camps, but in retrospect, it may have been for the best. He and his family would be evacuated to the Tulare assembly center and then the Gila River concentration camp. He would then volunteer for the Army and join the Military Intelligence Service (MIS), and be sent overseas to the Philippines where he would begin his assignment interrogating prisoners of war. Next, he talks about his time after the occupation, going to USC and getting his degree in civil engineering, which he would go into after graduating. He would then settle down, marry and have children.

Konoshima discusses the reasons for attending University of Wisconsin after the camps and his sister also attending. Next, he speaks about the effects of being born in Japan and not having the same rights that even Japanese Americans had, such as joining the army. After this, he goes back to the Pearl Harbor attacks and the effect that it had on he and his family. As his family leased a farm, they had to figure out what to do with it once the Executive Order 9066 came around. They would pack up their things and begin their time at Santa Anita race track, living in a horse stable. Shortly after that, they would be moved to Wyoming, to the Heart Mountain concentration camps. They would be assigned to a barrack and be kept inside the barbed wire fencing with nothing to do except work and watch friends get drafted into the Army, and in some cases killed in the war.

Fumio Ralph Fujimoto oral history interview, part 2 of 3, November 22, 2008
Fujimoto continues his recollection of Pearl Harbor and the aftermath of the attacks, including curfews and getting rid of all illegal contraband. Shortly after, they would get notification of Executive Order 9066, which would force them to be moved to an American concentration camp in Arizona. He and his family would be transported there with only the personal belongings they could carry. Once arrived at Poston concentration camp, he would see the poor living conditions including dusty barracks, no privacy and creatures all over the place. He talks about the recreational activities they had there as well, and the loyalty questions that were given to all men. He would end up being drafted into the Army and would be inducted at Fort Sheridan, followed by basic training at Camp Maxey. However, during this time, Victory over Europe occurred and he would be moved to Fort Snelling to begin Military Intelligence Service. While there, Japan surrendered and the war ended. Unfortunately, he was called back home with urgency as his mother was sick and would pass away shortly after. He would be discharged from the Army, so he could take care of his little sisters.

After recovering from his wound, he headed back out to join the 522nd, and in Germany, he would see the remains of the Auschwitz slave labor camps. It was not long after this that the end of the war would occur and he would be shipped back to the United States. Finally, he speaks about his time as a teacher and a limo driver, which included a special time with the very famous Beatles.

Takashima continues his discussion on self identity during this time, as his family was being held in the camps and he was drafted by the Army. He began his basic training in Alabama where he would train for heavy weaponry, including the antitank cannon and mortars. Next, he would be shipped to Italy to begin combat, starting in Naples and going throughout Italy and France. Being on the mortar team, he would only have to actually shoot the mortar gun one time throughout his time in Europe, but he would have a lot of experiences. Finally, while involved with the Gothic Line push, the German soldiers surrendered and that would spell the end of the war for Takashima.

Wada continues talking about the evacuation orders, forcing them to leave their homes in San Diego and head to Santa Anita racetracks. They would take their personal belongings and live in unclean horse stables, with makeshift barracks and poor living conditions. Shortly after this, they would be moved to Poston Concentration Camp in Arizona where the summers were hot and dry. He discusses the living conditions and the dust storms that they dealt with. There, they would have no privacy, but would still enjoy dances on the weekends. When recruiters one day arrived at the camp, Wada decided he would volunteer for the Army.

As Kinoshita was still young at the time, he enjoyed his time at the camp. Uchida would become close with Kinoshita's sister, who would later become his wife. They each talk about the importance of Issei during this time and the hardship that they went through. They also talk about the living conditions and what it felt like to be watched from a guard tower with a machine gun.

Sakamoto continues talking about his time in High School, growing up with very few Japanese Americans and taking an interest in astronomy and gymnastics. Next, he talks about his whereabouts during the attacks on Pearl Harbor, not believing it at first because of Orson Welles "The War of the Worlds" radio show. They would get evacuated soon after, heading to Pomona Assembly Center where privacy was not there at all. He talks about the process of moving out of his home and having to sell his new Ford, and then going to a place where they were stuck behind barbed wire. After this, they would be moved to Heart Mountain concentration camp in Wyoming.

Sato continues talking about growing up in Fresno, including finding out that because he was Japanese American, he was only allowed to swim at the local pool at certain times. After the attacks on Pearl Harbor, he and his family would be forced to evacuate their homes and leave much of their personal belongings while they would be moved to a temporary detention center at the Fresno fairgrounds. There, he would get his first job as a dishwasher. He talks about the activities at the assembly center, such as talent shows and judo, before moving to Jerome Concentration Camp in Arkansas. There, he would finish up his high school studies and help to drive the garbage truck, then after about a year and a half, he would move out of the camp to Chicago.

Yano continues to talk about his schooling, taking a history class and finding the Constitution and the way the Japanese Americans were being treated was unjust. He would end up throwing the book across the room and leaving the classroom, never to return again. After this, he goes back and talks about the attacks on Pearl Harbor, playing basketball in Lindsay, and seeing the reaction of his father. They would be faced with a lot of restrictions and curfew, seeing a lot of prejudice throughout the process. His family would be evacuated and sent to Gila River Concentration Camp, losing almost all of their personal belongings and leaving the farm to a man that would end up stealing a lot of their produce. After this, he talks about arriving at the camp, and seeing one of his friends from high school working as a military policeman, ignoring Yano.
