Title
Rikio Tsuda oral history interview, part 3 of 6, October 21, 2002
Description
Tsuda discusses meeting up with the 100th Infantry Battalion once arrived in Italy. He would be assigned to a rifle company, even though he was trained as a heavy weapons expert. After this, they would march to Anzio. While there, he would get his first taste of war, including burying dead German bodies and guarding occupied houses. Next, they would march to Belvedere, where they would attack the German lines from behind, taking many SS troops as prisoners. While this was happening, a German tank would also begin it's attack, but in the end, they would all be killed as well.
