Ikari talks more about being wounded during combat, getting shot in the legs and nearly losing consciousness before getting saved by the medics. He talks about his mentality when being shot in the line of fire and being taken to the aid station. Once there, he would be moved to a hospital, recovering from his wounds in a double cast. He talks about his brother visiting him, and then getting labeled as a permanent limited assignment (PLA), getting put into a medical assignment with the 15th Medical General Laboratory and then returning to the United States to work for an intelligence center, where they asked Nisei soldiers to dress up as Japanese soldiers and pretend to be the enemy. After this, he talks about the end of the war, getting discharged at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.
