Description

Mr. Inashima discusses his early life growing up in Seattle, Washington, describing the Japanese neighborhood he grew up in and the culture he was surrounded with. During childhood, Mr. Inashima attended Japanese language school and following his graduation from high school joined the Civilian Conservation Corps. Mr. Inashima later discussed his memories of the Pearl Harbor attack and the struggles the Japanese people faced at the beginning of the war. In the last portion of the video, Mr. Inashima talks about his time serving as an interpreter for the Military Intelligence Service, where he traveled to Tokyo and Yokohama.
