Description
Hara starts the interview discussing his family background and what it was like to grow up in a small rural town in Honolulu, Hawaii. Growing up, Hara's father went through a multitude of jobs, with a laundry business as the most memorable. As the oldest child, Mark would be responsible for doing the laundry, as well as going to both regular school and Japanese language school. He also discusses the New Year's celebrations that his family hosted and the traditions that they had.
