Teraoka talks about going to Camp Shelby for basic training, explains the meaning of "katonk", and discusses D Company members. He then talks about traveling overseas to Italy, communicating with his family, and describes Naples. Next, Teraoka talks about his combat experiences in Anzio and from Anzio to Rome; spraining his ankle; and meeting up with the 442nd in Civitavecchia. Lastly, Teraoka talks about seeing his brother while overseas, discusses the 100th joining up with the 442nd, talks about the 100th receiving a Presidential Unit Citation, and discusses combat experiences in Leghorn.
