Description

Kagawa talks about his experiences traveling to Camp Shelby, discusses getting assigned to an Anti-Tank Company, and talks about traveling overseas to Naples, Italy. He then talks about his experiences in Italy including discussing Italian civilians, sightseeing in Civitavecchia, and his Anti-Tank Company duties digging and planting mines. Next, Kagawa talks about witnessing his first casualty of war; and getting assigned to the 517th Parachute Regimental Combat Team and training with gliders. Lastly, Kagawa provides some thoughts regarding flying with the gliders; talks about landing in Southern France on a glider which resulted in the death of the pilot and co-pilot; and discusses his relationship with some paratroopers while in combat.
