He then talks about recreational activities such as sports, swimming, and ballroom dancing; and discusses his whereabouts during the attack on Pearl Harbor and his experiences after the attack involving rationing and blackouts. Lastly, Kanada talks about a friendship, his reasons for volunteering, traveling to the mainland and Camp Shelby, and discusses basic training.
