Shiosaki discusses his father's immigration from Japan and his various jobs including his work building a railroad and a family laundry business. He then talks about his parents marriage; his childhood home; discusses Alien land laws and citizenship; and his father's physical traits. Next, Shiosaki provides an explanation of the term, Issei; discusses his father's personality and demeanor; talks about his father's friendships; and discusses Japanese community groups and social functions his parents were a part of. Lastly, Shiosaki talks about going to the movies to see Japanese films; discusses his fishing hobby; talks about his mother and siblings; discusses family religion and church; and talks about his childhood friendships and attending school.
