Description

After Nagasaka was at Minidoka Concentration Camp, he would be drafted into the Army and get inducted at Fort Douglas. While at basic training, he would train to be a part of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, where he would learn to use various weapons. During the shipment overseas, he would end up being seasick most of the time as the captain had to zig zag through the ocean in order to avoid being shot at by a submarine. He would arrive in Italy and join up with the 442nd but the war would end shortly after the Po Valley campaign. Next, he talks about a few different stories from the war, including talking with civilians and gambling on the ship back to the United States.
