Kikuchi tells a story regarding the capture of German soldiers; discusses his guard duty assignment; and talks about receiving orders to go to Italy. He then talks about his experiences in Nice and Marseille; discusses arriving in Livorno; and discusses the living conditions he faced in Italy. Lastly, Kikuchi talks about training while in Italy; discusses his first combat experiences; talks about a soldier who was killed in action; and discusses experiencing enemy fire.
