Description

Yamate discusses his father including talking about his employment as a carpenter on a plantation on Kauai, and as the owner of a general store. He then talks about his own business which was a fishing and gardening store he opened post-war; and discusses his mother, siblings, and attending elementary school. Next, Yamate discusses his childhood home; community; chores; and his experiences going fishing with his father. Lastly, Yamate discusses attending high school; his childhood friendships; playing sports; and his experiences attending the University of Hawaii.
