Description

Endo discusses his truck driving assignment in basic training; shows and describes photographs of his family; and discusses his experiences at Camp Blanding during basic training. He then talks about reporting to Camp Shelby and his duties there as an assistant company clerk and bugler; talks about traveling to Europe on the Queen Mary; and discusses his first impressions of Marseilles. Next, Endo discusses combat experiences including discussing fellow soldiers; his E Company assignment patrolling the French/Italian border; and experiencing enemy fire from German soldiers. Lastly, Endo discusses General Mark Clark; talks about his combat experiences during the Gothic Line; discusses weapons he carried; and talks about volunteering for the medics and his experiences with them.
