Okada discusses his given name, prefecture origin and familial description. He describes his first home he grows up in and describes the relationship between his family-in-law and his family. His brother Charles is one of the last Japanese Americans to be inducted into the army in 1942. When it is time for Okada to service in the army he is classified as 4C. During war time, he is a sack sewer. Okada discusses his parents religion and school.
