Description

Ida talks about his time after the war and returning to the United States from Italy. He would first go to New York before getting stranded in Marysville, waiting for a strike to end so he could boat back to Hawaii. He would get back to Hawaii on Thanksgiving and move back into his home, hosting other Nisei soldiers that were waiting to be discharged. Next, he talks about life in Hawaii once returned, including going back to school and investing in an auto body shop. After that, he would work for Pacific Insurance Company. He also talks about his awards received during the war, including two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. After this, he talks about acts of heroism in the military and his family.
