Description

Yoshihara talks about his involvement with the 100th/442nd Veterans Association and discusses the proposal for a monument; duties during his tenure as president of the association; and tells a story regarding the donation of a sculpture and the sculptor's experiences in the military during the European Theater Campaign. He then talks about suffering a stroke and his recovery; his thoughts regarding military service and Japanese American incarceration; his experiences visiting Daniel Inouye's office; and talks about discussing the 442nd Regimental Combat Team with his relatives in Japan. Lastly, Yoshihara provides a message to future generations regarding the 442nd legacy; discusses values growing up; and reads a copy of a speech given at a ceremony while receiving his high school diploma.
