Description
Nishijima discusses his experiences at Granada (Amache) incarceration camp including discussing his father's job; flags; school; recreational activities such as playing baseball and watching movies; and making mochi. He then talks about his father getting remarried, his art hobby, and discusses the end of World War Two. Next, Nishijima talks about moving to Salt Lake City after leaving Amache and discusses his experiences there including encountering discrimination. Nishijima also talks about his childhood and discusses attending school, friendships, and his baseball coach. Lastly, Nishijima talks about getting drafted and basic training around the end of the Korean War; his assignment in Germany in a tank battalion; getting injured; and returning home and getting discharged.
