Description

Arisumi describes his family history and father's employment, his mother and their childhood home, as well as his siblings, school, and employment. He also remembers building the temporary rails for the plantation, school activities he did with his brothers and sisters, playing sports, and long board surfing. Finally, part 1 ends with a brief discussion about how surfing stopped after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
