Description
The 442nd Regimental Combat Team was sent to the Gothic Line, which was the backbone of German defense during World War II. Rudy Tokiwa describes how the 442nd made the advance at night, and it took them two days to overtake it. He talks about his friend, James Okubo -- a medic of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team that served with him on the front lines -- who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. Rudy was also awarded a medal for his service while overseas. He describes his homecoming in Salinas after the war.
