Description
Shimo discusses his life during young adulthood following his high school graduation and during his college years at UCLA and later UC Berkeley. Shimo discusses various aspects of his life around this time, including his skill in kendo and fencing, as well as his college major and clubs he belonged to. During this time there was much anti-Japanese sentiment from the public and Shimo discusses how this affected the Japanese community and measures he took to mitigate discriminatory acts. Shimo gives his opinion on factors that led to Japan's attack.
