Description

In this video clip, Toshiko Hattori talks more about her childhood, and how she became interested in nursing. She describes her basic training experience upon joining the United States Army. At the time of the end of the war in Europe, she was still completing basic training, but eventually shipped to Korea and Tokyo. While stationed in Tokyo, she met her husband while on R&R. They got married at the Tokyo Army Hospital. After her husband retired from military service, they moved to East Los Angeles.
