Description

Sakoda recalls the moment he learned about the end of World War Two, and his long journey back to the United States. He also discusses returning to Kauai after receiving his discharge papers and seeing his family for the first time after the war ended. Sakoda talks about meeting his wife, adopting a daughter, and the trip he took with his daughter to Europe where she was able to learn about her father's experiences during World War Two. Lastly, he provides some advice for future Americans regarding war and defending a country.
