Description

Senzaki discusses his first assignment overseas, recalling spending time playing poker while traveling, landing in Naples, Italy; and the sounds of the guns and tanks during his first encounter with German soldiers. He also talks about United States vs. German weapons, experiences exchanging fire against German soldiers, being attached to the 34th Infantry Division ("Red Bulls"), 3rd Army, and the 92nd Infantry Division; and describes a story prior to rescuing the Lost Battalion in which the entire I Company was pinned down during combat.
