Description

Mr. Yabu spends the first portion of the interview discussing memories of his time at Heart Mountain. He discusses the magpie, which became his family's pet, he rescued on a trip to the Shoshone River and the swimming hole he frequented while in the camp. Mr. Yabu also discusses his neighbors and friends during his time at the camp, offering a few entertaining anecdotes. He later goes on to discuss the Heart Mountain, Wyoming Foundation and attending reunions throughout the years. Mr. Yabu concludes the interview mentioning his uncle's service in the 442nd, and the pride he felt as his uncle was honored by the Heart Mountain Foundation.
