Description
Mr. Hajiro discusses his first court martial, which in turn led to his transfer to I Company and his training with the BAR machine gun. He continues on to talk about combat he saw in Bruyeres and Biffontaine, where he captured several German POWs. The majority of the video contains Mr. Hajiro's explanation of the mission to rescue the Lost Battalion, in which he destroyed two German machine gun nests. Mr. Hajiro was wounded in this encounter and nominated for the Medal of Honor for his bravery. After spending some time in a field hospital, Mr. Hajiro returned to I Company where he held kitchen duty.
