Description

Kikuchi describes Manzanar Concentration Camp including discussing the living conditions, barracks, food, and his job as a lifeguard. He then talks about his parents' jobs at Manzanar; discusses the riots; tells a story in which he escaped but eventually returned to Manzanar; and discusses social activities and schools at Manzanar. Next, Kikuchi provides some thoughts regarding his incarceration; discusses the loyalty questionnaire; and talks about leaving Manzanar for Chicago. Lastly, Kikuchi talks about traveling to Chicago and his experiences there including his housing, work, and getting an apprenticeship at an artist studio.
