Description

Kikuchi discusses his father including talking about his immigration to the United States, employment, and experiences in college. He then talks about attending Japanese language school, attending high school, growing up in Los Angeles, playing sports, and his swimming hobby. Next, Kikuchi talks about his relationship with his father; discusses childhood family activities; talks about celebrating holidays and food; and discusses his father and stepmother's involvement with Japanese American community activities. Lastly, Kikuchi talks about his childhood friendships; his forced removal to Manzanar Concentration Camp and his experiences working as a carpenter to construct the camp, as well as his first impressions of Manzanar and the living conditions there.
