Description

Katagiri discusses communicating using Hawaiian slang [pidgin] for codes; and talks about the messages that were being sent and received. He then talks about some of his duties with the communications section, getting wounded, and his assignment processing German POWs after he was released from the hospital. Next, Katagiri talks about General Mark Clark; discusses the Army's university training center program which allowed him to take classes at the University of Florence; and talks about some positive and negative experiences during the war. Lastly, Katagiri tells a story regarding getting lost while trying to retrieve the 4th Platoon, discusses returning to the United States, and talks about his participation in a parade in Washington D.C.
